Description

The Green Monarch Ridge is located across Pend Oreille Lake to the south of Hope, Idaho.  The scenery was spectacular with the mountains shooting almost 3,000' vertical feet out of the lake.  To get there you have to drive down to Clark Fork, Idaho, and cross Johnson's Creek.  The elevation gain is cumulative with the undulating ridge.  The trail became brushy in areas, but never too difficult to follow.  The views of Lake Pend Oreille from Green Monarch Ridge and Green Monarch Mountain were exceptional.
