Description
I had the day off but no partner, so I decided to go back to the Tenmile/Mosquito Range and finish my last Centennial Peak in that area. I got a very late start and didn't start hiking until after 11:00, but I knew it was a very short hike and went anyway. I had been on Drift Peak's northwest ridge last fall and ran out of time before turning around at 12,800'. Villa Ridge ended up being a very fun hike that I enjoyed a lot. I made the summit in 1 hour and 45 minutes, but my late start caught up with me. The weather wasn't holding, and within 15 minutes of descending, it started to rain and grauple hard. As a result of the lightning and thunder, I dropped off the ridge at my earliest convenience and descended the northwest bowl route. It didn't stop until on the drive home and by the time I was back to my vehicle, I was totally soaked despite having a light shell on the entire time it rained.
