After starting the 2009-2010 ice season off relatively well, it slowed down significantly after my Ouray, Colorado, trip this year. Between work and my family, I was really busy and wasn't able to get out that much in February, March, or April. Nevertheless, we did get one more good day in at Vail, Colorado, to finish the ice season. I had climbed at Pumphouse Falls one other time with some old friends over three years ago. It was fun to go back after quite some time and climb there again. Jeff and I each led the pitch in traditional style and then left the screws and screamers in so we could lead it again as a sport climb. On my sport lead, I climbed leashless which definitely made the pitch harder for me. After cleaning the ice, we top-roped for three more runs of various lines before heading back to Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
