Description
I was working in Estes Park, Colorado, for a couple of weeks, so I decided to try and take advantage of the location of my assignment. I didn't have a whole lot of daylight to work with, so my options were limited. I perused the peakbagger.com website and found this peak close to town in Rocky Mountain National Park that wouldn't involve private property issues. I cruised through the park entrance and found a pull out shortly after turning onto Bear Lake Road. I simply bushwacked for a little over a half mile to the summit of Eagle Cliff Mountain. Despite the short distance, I did manage to gain 700' and get a pretty good workout in. Certainly short and sweet, but it was to a named peak so I added it to my trip reports and peak list. It took me 30 minutes to summit and 20 to get back down.
