Description

I was on vacation with my wife in St. Lucia, so I took a day to hike the Gros Piton.  The Pitons are the iconic landmarks that most people identify St. Lucia with.  The Gros Piton is taller and has a class 3 trail/route that takes many willing tourists to the summit.  The smaller pointy Petit Piton is apparently more difficult and rarely climbed.  It took me 1 hour and 45 minutes to gain the top and 55 minutes to return to the trailhead.

The entire trail was rock and boulder hopping at first and scrambling after half way.

Halfway up the hike you got a view of the Petit Peton.
